There was a gap to create a profile which had graphical parallel lines, but still had a familiar nod back to the classics. Faro is the result of this research. Also the project was about highlight the amazing craftsmanship that goes into cord weaving. It’s really a skill that takes time to master. After three years, the typology remains unchanged, but it has been enhanced with a natural marble base. The lamp is constructed from recycled mild steel scaffolding. Scaff Floor, closely adheres to the golden ratio. The goal was to ensure that the base diameter is proportional to the bulb diameter, and that the bulb diameter is proportional to the stem. While not perfect, the design comes close to achieving the perfect balance.
